The Power in Jesus Name
“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the Lord in the splendour of holiness” (1 Chronicles 16:29)
Come and Rest in My Presence When you appeal to someone in authority, they are much more likely to exercise power for you if you know their name and have a personal relationship with them. It’s especially true if you cry, “Daddy.”
“Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his Presence continually!” (2 Chronicles 16:10-11)
“As we gaze upon His majesty and beauty, we are overwhelmed with His greatness.” “As you look intently at one facet of His character, for example, goodness, He comes and saturates your whole being with a clear sense and awareness that He indeed is good. Then you come to a state in which you could really, really say you have tasted and have seen He is immeasurably good to you. Then goodness becomes alive inside of you…. What you focus on will be magnified within you.” (Heitland p11,16-17)
Prayer: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me." (Psalm 51:10-11)
Receive My PowerReading: Acts 3 ESV Audio Bible
Extract: Acts 3:6,10,12,16,19,26 TPT
“’By the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk!’ …suddenly power surged into his crippled feet and ankles. Astonishment swept over the crowd, for they were amazed at what happened to him. ‘We didn’t make this crippled man walk by our own power or authority… Faith in Jesus’ name has healed this man standing before you. It is the faith that comes through believing in Jesus’ name that has made this crippled man walk right in front of your eyes!... And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s Presence.’”
Listen to what the Word Says, Obey and Share.
S: By what power was this man healed? John 14:13-14 “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
O: Will you obey what God asks of you? 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
S: Who do you know needs the healing and refreshing of the Lord’s Presence? Exercise the authority of Christ that is in you – and reach out to them.
Be My Spirit-led Witnesses ‘Keys to Spirit Led Outreach’ by Stuart Gramenz (p11-26) www.spiritled.com.au
Seek a revelation of Jesus’ mindset so acts of love follow you also. Jesus saw the crowds with compassion rather than judgement because he saw they were harassed and helpless, dispirited and distressed, “sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:26 AMP) He wept over His city. (Luke 19:41)
Stuart likens sin to A.I.D.S – Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome - caused by the H.I.V. virus which attacks and nullifies the immune system. SIN - Selfishness, Independence, Neurosis - is deceitful and perverse, sickening our heart and mind. (Jeremiah 17:9 AMP)
“Through God’s power, our immune system is restored and we have the opportunity to regain total spiritual healing, one spiritual disease at a time.”
Our sins (unforgiveness, selfishness, anger, jealousy…) all need to be cured. (p26)
Romans 5:12 NLT “When Adam sinned, sin entered the human race. Adam’s sin brought death so death can spread to everyone for everyone sinned.”
Romans 3:23 “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Without Jesus, we are incapable of maintaining the standard of life we expect. (Romans 7:15-23 MSG)
2 Corinthians 4:4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel.”
Romans 5:17 “For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.”
Acts 2:21 AMP “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord [invoking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord Jesus] shall be saved.”
