The Realm of God’s Kingdom
“Jesus answered, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’” (John 3:5)
Come and Rest in My Presence John 4:23-24 “True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Colossians 3:1-2 “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Meet with God heart to heart.
“John had learned how to lean into the heart of Jesus so Jesus could release His heart, revelations and secrets to John.”
“The secret to spiritual power is the secret place. When you encounter God, the power in you increases. As you soak* in His presence, you are energized with His anointing, authority and power.” *rest expectantly in whole-hearted submission
“What we have received in the secret place in the ministry of the priest, we are to release to the world, to destroy the works of the enemy and dispense the resources of heaven as kings. This is how we are to declare and show forth His excellencies and glory to this earth.”
“The purpose of our calling is to make known the excellencies of God. We are called to reveal and demonstrate His power, goodness and love. We are destined to bring heaven here on earth.” (Hetland, p19,27,42,56,55)
Receive My PowerReading: Acts 14:19-28 ESV Audio Bible
Extract: Acts 14:19-23 TPT
“Some of the Jews who had opposed Paul and Barnabas in Antioch and Iconium arrived and stirred up the crowd against them. They stoned Paul and dragged his body outside the city and left him for dead. When the believers encircled Paul’s body, he miraculously stood up! Paul stood and immediately went back into the city. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe. After preaching the wonderful news of the gospel there and winning a large number of followers to Jesus, they retraced their steps and revisited Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch. At each place they went, they strengthened the lives of the believers and encouraged them to go deeper in their faith. And they taught them, ‘It is necessary for us to enter into the realm of God’s kingdom, because that’s the only way we will endure our many trials and persecutions.’ Paul and Barnabas ordained leaders, known as elders, from among the congregations in every church they visited. After prayer and fasting, they publicly committed them into the care and protection of the Lord of their faith.”
Listen to what the Word Says, Obey and Share.
S: What did Paul mean by “entering into the realm of God’s kingdom?”
Jesus said the kingdom is ‘near.’ (Luke 10:9-11) It is clear from Matthew 5:19 that Jesus is not using the term “entering the kingdom” to mean salvation. Jesus also said the kingdom is a hidden treasure of great value. (Matthew 13:44-45) The secrets of the kingdom are only accessible to those who are child-like, who obey and depend trustingly on God.
We are able to enter the supernatural spiritual realm of God’s kingdom when, by faith, its reality is more vivid to us than the physical realm of earth. John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” If our heart is focused on the physical realm, we will be limited to what our senses would dictate. However if our heart is focused on God, the spiritual realm becomes our reality.
Most of us do not enter the realm of God's kingdom until we know our dependency on God. For example: when we are desperate, sick or enduring circumstances only the power of God can save us from. (Matthew 5:10,13) Rich men only enter ‘with difficulty’. (Matthew 19:23) After his experience in today's reading Paul says in Acts 14:22 that we enter the kingdom through “hardship” (NIV), “tribulation” (NKJ) or in order to “endure our many trials and persecutions.” (TPT)
The Holy Spirit also opens to us the reality of the kingdom - the spiritual realm - through prayer and fasting; sacrificial prayer & worship; and 24/7 night and day prayer watch.
S: What does this say to you?
O: How will you go deeper in your faith so you can endure what is coming?
S: Declaration: Lord, as your friend, I choose to do all you command.
John 15:14-16 “You are my friends if you do what I command you… I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you… I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
